First Look: Thor: Ragnarok
Thor: Ragnarok
Guess what . . .the trailer for the latest movie of the Norse god, Thor: Ragnarok, was released a couple of days ago, and it was rather interesting.
Thor: Ragnarok
The trailer shows a first look of the first female primary villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hela (Cate Blanchett).
Thor: Ragnarok
Hela is the goddess of death who was imprisoned before being accidentally let loose after Loki (Tom Hiddleston) became the new ruler of Asgard.
Thor: Ragnarok
She was furious about being held captive for a millennia and defeats Thor while destroying Mjolnir in the process.
Thor: Ragnarok
Thor ends up on the planet Sakaar and forced to combat as a gladiator in an arena operated by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).
Thor: Ragnarok
In addition, Thor: Ragnarok also sees the return of Heimdall (Idris Alba) and Odin (Anthony Hopkins).
Thor: Ragnarok
The other new characters to enter the MCU include Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Skurge (Karl Urban).
Thor: Ragnarok
The Hulk also makes a surprise appearance on Thor: Ragnarok as a gladiator who goes up against the god of thunder in the main event.
Thor: Ragnarok
The trailer itself takes its inspiration from the Guardians of the Galaxy and adds a little bit of fun. It also plays the "Immigrant Song" of Led Zeppelin, reminiscent of the "Hooked on a Feeling" of Blue Suede of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Thor: Ragnarok
Adding some goofiness on the trailer may make it less serious compared to the trailers of the previous Thor movies.
Thor: Ragnarok
Directed by Taika Waititi, best known for the vampire mockumentary, "What We Do In The Shadows,"Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit the big screen on October 27, 2017 in the UK and November 3, 2017 in the UK.
